What is a

first look?

You can sense that he's nervous as he awaits your arrival.  As you walk up behind him, you can't wait to see his reaction.  You tap him on the shoulder.  He turns...  You see the joy, excitement, admiration, all his emotion at seeing his beautiful bride, up close.  You embrace,  both of you tear up.  "Spin around so I can see" he says.  "You look so beautiful!"  It's just the two of you, and the first time you've been alone together all day.  A first look offers an opportunity rarely had on a wedding day - a chance to spend a few minutes together, quiet, alone, and just enjoy being together.  Afterward we flow right info a portrait session that will preserve some of the most genuine emotion you'll feel that day.

So do you have to do a first look?  Of course not!  The traditional down-the-aisle reveal is just as beautiful of a moment!  But there are a few benefits of having a first look:

A chance to calm each other's inevitable pre-wedding jitters.  Who better than the person you'll spend the rest of your life with!

More time for portraits together!

No one is hovering and watching while you have a portrait session.  This often happens when your portraits are crammed in with family and bridal party photos after the ceremony.

More time with family and guests after the wedding.

After your portrait shoot you'll get to relax and spend time with your bridal party.
